Youth Fundraiser

Youth Fundraiser

This is a picture from the youth fundraiser today. We had the students
serve the potatoes to everyone. It went really well, and the students
did a great job. We raised enough money to scholarship a few students
fir camp this summer. It's gonna be great, camp that is, I can't wait
to start working out the details along side our college/career group.

More to come about youth camp and the ministries at White Oak Baptist
Church.

Farmers Market

Picking up potatoes form the caninos farmers market. It's awsome and
beautiful. We have a fundraiser on Sunday to raise money for the youth.

This is the annex aka cafe/hang out for students. It was destroyed by
hurricane Ike so now get to redesign it thanks Ike. Hopefully it will
be finished soon and I can post another pic with students actually in
it.

This is the White Oak Church sanctuary. Old but awsome theater style
seats. Gotta love the days of green and gold.

Ok so I'm updating this on my phone and hit the wrong button... Here
goes those tid bits of info

1. We love our little apartment (I'll post pics Ryann i promise)
except there's no washer and dryer hook ups which has made for
interesting schedules because we dry everything... I mean everything

2. I've only had to cook a couple of times because we have been so
graciously taken care of with gift cards and dinners etc.

3. Marley loves it here... She has some friends in the neighborhood...
And the kids that live here absolutely adore her!

4. I have a job interview on wednesday at the library

5. Church is going really great. I'm trying to figure out where my
part of the puzzle is and what my role will be

6. Miss my friends in Birmingham and friends and family in Louisiana
but definitely have found it easy to fit in with out new friends here

I will write again soon and post the promised pics as well.

Texas

So it's been a while since I've written, and it's long over due...so

hello texas!

yes we made it... we're here! we are settling in and meeting lots of new people from the church. they are really amazing... they feed you (all the time)! i haven't been able to post pics from the drive over here but they will be coming soon along with a few from the apartment. tonight is our first meeting with the youth. we are very excited - i'll post more about that later too (hopefully with some pics from the kids).

for now just enjoying being right in the place god has for us now. amazing what happens when you are truly obedient.
