As you read this please be in a mindset of prayer asking the Lord how you can respond to the needs of those impacted by tornadoes earlier this week.
After Sunday's service a family of WOBC approached me with a thought that weighed on their hearts. Dan walked up and said... pack the truck. I was puzzled for a moment then his wife Michelle responded... Dan is headed to Atlanta Saturday. We will provide a truck and we (Anyone) can feel it with needs for Tuscaloosa and surrounding areas. I was like cool... who's truck? Michelle's response... a UHAUL. I was like... whooa. Nice lets do it!
So... here is where we come into play.
GAME PLAN:
The truck will be at WOBC parking lot this Saturday, May 7th. Pending Lil'B I will be there to assist The Widgers in loading the truck. What we need for you to do is get it to the church sometime this week or for sure on Saturday morning. He will be departing no later than 12:00pm on Saturday afternoon.
If you are in the Baton Rouge area and would like to donate please contact me immediately to make possible arrangements.
Here is a list of needs:
Priority Items:
1. Hygiene Items
2. Underwear
3. Clothes (Any size, good shape)
4. Shoes

Please understand my heart on this next point. These people are starting with nothing or very little. This is a time for us to evaluate our resources and sacrifice coming together as the church representing our faithful Lord Jesus Christ. Please, I repeat, please do not bring us broken items or junk you do not want. We need to respect our fellow neighbors and put ourselves in their shoes loving them the way Jesus Christ teaches us to love.
Please pray... please respond.
Sincerely,
Casey
